Tenants @ TMARC have coped with a number of changes and building improvements continue - with Phil attending to loft insulation and rendering. He saved the chimney from crashing to the ground and has earnt the admiration of many for his ability to absail in all weathers.

New Arrivals
I.T. problems not withstanding we welcome Pat and Alison from the Asylum Team @ St Peters' who expect to have settled in by the end of the month.

Audits
Most of us are sorting out funding bids, audits and reports which may explain the unusual frenzy and elusiveness many display - its not just the unpredictable weather freezing our mouths shut.

Progress
MCAS in collaboration with KRSG, KCC Police and TMARC are working together to improve the relations between pupils, their families, the schools and wider community. (Wednesday p.m.)

KRAN will launch the Friendship Project for Thanet community workers on March 21st at the Thanet Campus. Details from Aileen Christodoulou. The Dover launch of their school/community project takes place on Friday, 14th February, at Aylesham Community Centre.

New Deal - accreditation
TMARC is now registered to support New Deal clients on their voluntary option for 26 weeks. So far three potential candidates have attended interviews with Paul Knowles, Fiona Gilbert, Frances and Aileen making up the Interview Panels.

MHL
Supported by a strong team Dan Easley continues to provide an unmatchable service here in the heart of Thanet.

Link Up
Katie Cox will be responsible for running courses at TMARC as of Thursday, 20th February - 1.30 - 3.30pm. There will be two 'taster' sessions, including Saturday, 12.00-2.00pm.The idea is to train members of the public to support Basic Skills/ESOL classes throughout the community. We wish Katie every success. Please promote 'taster' sessions to clients who are looking to development their employability.

Red Cross
Peter Wright has received approval from Maidstone to run his therapeutic massage from our Reception on Thursday afternoons as of Thursday, 20th February. It is hoped that a female volunteer will join him in the future and that women from ethnic minorities will access the facility as a result. To book your massages simply add your name to the sheet posted on the Reception Noticeboard.

Benefits Agency
Glenys continues to provide advice and information on the second Friday in the month - this Friday- and may be found in Room 5.

Holidays
Frances will be 'on leave' all of next week. Jenny-our temp- will cover three days and will be helped by Pat - our invaluable volunteer.

ARTS and CULTURE

Social Evenings

Pie Factory Music
Brian Spencer Smith and Mike were Guest Speakers at the TMARC Monthly Forum (held on the second Wednesday in the month) and expressed an interest in forging partnerships with community workers based here who work with disadvantaged groups of Thanet.
