This was the first idea for the Youth Web site. The Thanet Youth is developing it's own pages now.

I was once asked "why cant we get rid of teenagers? Why can't we shut down children at age 16 and awaken them when they reach their twenties?"

After pondering this for a short while I found my answer: experience. By being a teenager we gain experience that creates a character which becomes our adult selves.

Whether sex, alchohol, cigarettes or other antics, our adult persona is built around our good and bad experiences as youths. So why do adults (most older folk :-) have prejudices against youths? Misunderstanding, hence the common phrase "misunderstood youth".

Increased understanding of teenagers attitudes and beliefs will mean increased acceptences of youth culture. Can this website achieve all of that?

No, but we can make a start.
